LIVING ROOM DESIGN – TROPICAL TREND
This spring-summer season makes you feel the heat with a punch of Tropical Caribbean vibe. The mood set by this Tropical Trend is Ibiza Eclecticism – vibrant and bold for an exotic escapism. Everywhere you’ll be finding yourself spotting this Trend, from fashion runways, to artisanal African products to Home Interiors. This is the perfect season to bring out the bold adventurous you by playing with citrus refreshing bold colours, tropical bird motifs, banana leaf prints, pineapple love, flamingos and all things jungle that connects you back to your travels.
Earlier this month we started conceptualizing a living room design. Based on exotic tropical trend for one of our clients who is as adventurous , bold and fun-loving like the tropic creatures. She wanted us to incorporate the trend into her home for a more uplifting and fresh ambiance altogether.
We started with setting the theme and colour palette reflecting the Tropical style as illustrated by the Theme board. All things that came to our mind were so refreshing, we wanted to do this up at the earliest. Our brainstorming was something like seen in the mind map above.
Feature wall with Tropical print wallpapers incorporated in wall moldings like frames with highlights of the theme. This wall served as the focal point of the room. Doing away with the old traditional way of wallpaper application on the full wall.
Wallpaper in portions can be a better option for wall art than complete wallpaper wall. Do you agree? Leave us your comments below of what you think about this idea.
Tropical Interior Vibe
Interiors can be fun when you make up your mind to mix and match for an Eclectic feel altogether. As you can see, here we have used every possible thing to make our client feel connected to her travels and globe trotting lifestyle. From using a bamboo swing, to using African artisanal woven baskets as wall décor. To mixing plush velvet sofa with cane chairs, topping it all up with eye candy cushions with tropical paradise prints. The kilim rug and not to forget skateboard adventure to remind her off those lovely water rafts.
If living with a particular trend can be challenging for you, not to worry we recommend adding subtle theme decoratives to get the look. With a minimalistic approach you can do fairly well. Keep your home up-to date by adding, subtracting and mixing old with new decoratives and furnishings.
Some of our go to affordable brands have caught on to this trend early on, so we thought of showing you some key pieces which will help you add a little Tropicana to your Home. Here are the brands you can shop at for tropical finds.
